HOW IT WORKS:

Many of us get bogged down by what we think “good writing” should be. Escape to the Page is not about being a good writer!​ It's about sidelining your critical voice. It's a no-pressure, come-as-you-are drop-in creative writing adventure.

WE START BY READING A POEM OUT LOUD.

You choose any line from the poem to leap off from. We’ll write for 25 minutes. We’ll do this twice or three times.

STARTING with another writer's language removes the fear of the blank page and takes you to unexpected places. I've been doing and teaching this practice for more than a decade and can attest to how simple yet

powerful it is.

AFTER WE WRITE, we read our work aloud. (You can pass if you choose.) We don’t critique, we just listen to one another with an open heart.
